PHC Benefits

Providence Health Care offers a comprehensive and competitive benefit package, which may vary depending of collective agreement and employment status.  For regular full-time or part-time employees most packages include the following employer paid benefits:

BC Medical Services Plan (MSP)

Provides payment of medically required services provided by medical practitioners, specialists, laboratory services and diagnostic procedures. www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/health/health-drug-coverage/msp

Extended Health

Extended Health is a benefit provided to assist members in paying for specific services and suppliers not covered by MSP such as prescription drugs, vision care and non-physician services such as physiotherapy, chiropractors and naturopaths. As part of this benefit you are also provided with worldwide emergency medical assistance – Contact your Benefit Associate for a brochure.

Dental

Provides reimbursement of basic, restorative and orthodontic services subject to some maximums.

Group Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

While employed at Providence Health Care financial protection is provided to your beneficiary in the event of your death.  Financial protection is also offered should a dismemberment occur.  Further information is available in the Benefit Booklet.

Long Term Disability

Income is provided in the event of disability.  Upon completion of the qualifying period, the benefit replaces a percentage of your pre-disability income.  Further information is available in the Benefit Booklet.

Municipal Pension Plan

Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)

EFAP is a voluntary program that offers free, confidential counseling services to all eligible employees and family member to deal with a wide range of concerns including but not limited to, personal, family/relationship, and workplace issues.  The EFAP can be reached at 604-872-4929 in the Lower Mainland, or toll-free at 1-800-505-4929. Website: www.efap.ca
